Hiragany

Hiragany is a Japanese IME for Mac OS X.

But it's not an ordinally one by any means. It doesn't compile your inputs to Kanji combinations and let you choose one, like all other Japanese IMEs do. Hiragany only allows you to write in Hiragana and Katakana, no Kanji selection at all.

Just type as you speak Japanese. You write Japanese.

Install

  1. Download Hiragany for Mac version 0.1
  2. Extract and copy Hiragany.app to /Library/Input Methods/
  3. Open System Preferences and click on International to open Input Menu
  4. Enable Hiragany
  5. Enjoy ひらがなせいかつ!
